“The Secret to a Happy New Year”

“But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (his way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own, sufficient for each day is its own trouble.”  Matthew 6:33-34 AMPC

NOTE: The old year has ended and the New Year has just started.  I truly believe we are ready for a new start.  Have faith to believe God for the greatest year ever – a year filled with excitement and supernatural breakthroughs as we walk in the power and authority of God’s love and grace, trusting in His holy Word.

Throughout history, the Lord has preserved the integrity of His Word because the Lord is trustworthy and true.  We can always believe and trust what He says.  We can also remind Him with confidence of the promises we have read and expect Him to hear us and answer our prayers when we ask anything according to His divine will (I John 5:14-15).

When we humble ourselves before God, valuing the scriptures, coming to church with a sincere desire to hear from God, asking for direction and guidance, we can expect to hear and receive answers to our requests.

The Lord has blessed us by preserving the purity of the scriptures, although we have a variety of translations available to us.  We have His thoughts and Words of life that we can follow and know what God expects of us.

We have scripture to guide our steps as we start our journey into a new year.  Psalm 119:105 says, “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”  When we acknowledge and humble ourselves before His Word, He will show us what to do, where to go, what we need to say, and how to make those important decisions facing us today and tomorrow.  God’s Word not only guides our steps, but also directs us to a path of wisdom.  “The entrance and unfolding of your words give light; their unfolding gives understanding (discernment and comprehension) to the simple” (Psalm 119:30).

The Lord has blessed us by offering His thoughts and words for every aspect of our lives, because He is interested and cares about every detail – our pain, grief, loneliness, or sickness.  We can find what we need in His Word to strengthen and help us in our time of trouble, because the Lord is interested in and loves us (Psalm 119:114).

When facing life interruptions, situations that confront and discourage and sometimes overwhelm us, let our first response be to turn to the Word of God.  If we do not know where to look or read, the Lord will guide us to a passage of scripture that will lift our spirit and restore our hope with peace and joy in the midst of our storm.

“Great peace have they who have your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble” (Psalm 119:165).

The benefit of reading, studying, and obeying God’s Word is that our lives are transformed.  God is honored and is committed to blessing those who respect, value, and love His Word.  We have God’s written message to us from Genesis to Revelation, revealing His mind and heart.  Everything else will fade and pass away, “but the Word of God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8).

I believe you are ready to make 2017 the greatest year ever.  Live the life God designed for you – a life of deeper purpose, fulfillment, and with blessings for family, finances, and future.

I believe you are ready to leave behind the political unrest, financial uncertainty, public shootings, racial tensions, terrorist threats, and other issues facing us today.  Acting on the principles found in the Word of God, we can expect and receive a supernatural harvest and breakthroughs beyond anything.  Walking in the power and authority of God’s Word, love, and grace, we can overcome struggling, worry, and discouragement.  Even if it seems impossible, we can take ownership of God’s Word and continue to stand.

Find scriptures that speak to your situation, change your focus, and meditate on God’s Word until you get results.  Identify the promises God’s Word has made to you, and meditate (ponder, and roll over and over in your mind) until you can see yourself walking in that promise.  Remember, God’s grace remains sufficient, and nothing is hopeless when God’s grace is on your life.

While you are waiting on the manifestation, expect, anticipate, and praise Him.  When we pray and praise God, we release His power to change the situation.  With God all things are possible if we believe… I believe we can overcome anything with God on our side, and what God started, He will finish.

You must stay connected to the Word of God in this season we are entering, in order to stay protected.  Continue to trust in God and rest in His grace!  We can make it through another year; God will see us through with nothing missing, nothing broken, and nothing lacking in our lives.

Expect, anticipate, praise Him, and keep moving forward, as you take ownership of God’s Word, and remain confident in His steadfast love and Word.  “For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).  Believe it, receive it, and live it, because He said it!
